NEW YORK, Oct. 19, 2021 -- Top high school cross country runners from across the US will compete in the four Eastbay Cross Country Championship (ECCC) Regionals (formally Foot Locker Cross Country) in hopes of becoming a finalist in the nation’s preeminent Cross Country Championship. After a one year hiatus due to the covid pandemic, high school cross country’s most esteemed and historic race will be back this fall stronger than ever under the Eastbay moniker, and looking to crown the nation’s true girls and boys champions.

(World Athletics ) - Ethiopia’s Seifu Tura claimed the biggest win of his career so far, while Kenya’s world champion Ruth Chepngetich added another title to her CV as the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, a World Athletics Elite Platinum Label road race, returned on Sunday (10).

With deep elite fields and an overall total of more than 35,000 runners the 43rd edition of the N Kolay Istanbul Marathon will go ahead on 7 November. Ethiopians Herpasa Negasa and Mamitu Daska head the start lists with personal bests of 2:03:40 and 2:21:59 respectively.

The event was the third race in Germany to go ahead with more than 10,000 runners during the Corona pandemic. In the past two months Berlin’s half marathon and marathon races were staged successfully in the capital.
