2020 has been an unprecedented year for talented, aspiring track and field athletes. What was supposed to be an Olympic year turned into a year with more upheaval than most of us have seen in our lifetimes. In order to keep people healthy, businesses closed and gatherings were canceled. The effect on track and field has been dramatic with the loss of competitive opportunities, training venues closed, and sponsors cutting their budgets.

Nevertheless, our Pacific Association athletes have persevered. They have adapted their training and reframed their goals. Our athletes need to be ready to compete for a spot on the United States team that goes to Tokyo in 2021. Today the USATF Pacific Foundation is launching our 2020 fundraising campaign to help ensure our athletes have the resources they need to stay healthy and safe while training at an elite level. Every donation up to $100 will be matched by the interest earnings on the George Kleeman endowment.

All donations will go to Pacific Association athletes who meet our competition and limited-income standard. The Foundation recognizes new financial challenges faced by our qualified athletes due to COVID-19, including potential clearance for participation and adequate nutrition.

Please give to the USATF Pacific Foundation Athlete Grants for 2021 and help our potential Olympians reach their dream!

“Thanks to the Foundation’s support, I will have an increased opportunity to represent the US at the Olympic Games. I’d like to give a special thank you to the donors for their generosity and to George Kleeman for the passion he gave Track and Field.”

“Pursuing my dream while also working two jobs has been tough mentally and physically but this grant will help relieve stress that has been weighing on my shoulders for quite some time.”
