Nuta Olaru “three-peats” as 2012-14 female winner; Wardian sets new Masters and Boston 2 Big Sur records - Two veteran runners, Michael Wardian, 40, and Nuta Olaru, 43, took top honors in the 29th Presentation of the Big Sur International Marathon.  Their age status (over 40) earned them first place awards in the Masters division as well, with Wardian setting a new Big Sur Masters record.

Husband and wife Joe Thorne and Kara Thorne take half-marathon titles, set course records - SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – On a clear, sunny Central Coast morning, Ryan Neely, 25, and Kimberly O’Donnell, 24, both from Walnut Creek, Calif., were the overall male and female winners respectively at the 2014 San Luis Obispo Marathon, Half Marathon + 5K presented by LeftLaneSports.com. Both Neely and O’Donnell broke course records, with Neely crossing the finish line in 2 hours, 34 minutes, 46 seconds and O’Donnell in 3:04:33. In a rather cute twist, Neely and O’Donnell are dating.

BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced an elite field of Olympic Games and IAAF World Championships medalists and returning champions for the 2014 B.A.A. 5K, to be held on Saturday, April 19, two days prior to the 2014 Boston Marathon®. The 2014 B.A.A. 5K will have a field size of 10,000 entrants and will start and finish at Boston Common. The race is sold out. A prize purse of $39,900 (USD) will be awarded equally to the top male and female finishers. In addition, professional runners are eligible for a $5,000 (USD) bonus for event record times established at the B.A.A. 5K. Bonus incentives will also be available for professional runners for multiple top finishes at B.A.A. events in 2014.

Historic amount raised by largest number of charities and participants in event’s 29-year history - LOS ANGELES (April 11, 2014) — LA Marathon LLC announced today a record breaking $3.7 million cumulative funds raised to support 91 charities who participated in the 2014 ASICS LA Marathon.
